The foreign english teachers here teach on contracts, and it states that we have 21 vacation days. The children have waaaaaay more holidays than that and the other staff members (who are not on the same contract) do not have to go to work during these holidays. This means that there will be days where we are required to go to work in a childless, empty school, with nothing to do. What a waste of time. We foreign english teachers affectionately call this deskwarming. I have to deskwarm from 8:30am - 4:40pm for 3 days this week.
But fear not! I am prepared. Armed with star wars movies, facebook, gchat, cup noodles, pepero, special k, chocolates, lollipops, candy, coffee, and tea, I'll survive these days with a smile and a few extra pounds. Bring it on!
