Sunny Singapore!

Day 1: Got a free upgrade to business class to Singapore (yay!)! Got off the airplane, dropped off my stuff, and went straight to my friend's gig at a bar/club. The event was sponsored by Smirnoff - free flow vodka! Too bad I couldn't fully take advantage of this. The band is called Sixx, and they're pretty darn awesome. They recently returned from their sponsored trip to play at a music festival in France. You could even silk screen band tshirts on the spot (picture on the right).

After the gig, we went for midnight roti prata! Voted top 45 most delicious food in the world by CNNGo, roti prata is fried dough eaten with curry, egg, or sweet toppings. Amazing!

Day 2:  Woke up and Rebecca's dad took us out to a famous Bakuteh restaurant. Bakuteh is a soup dish cooked with pork ribs simmered in a broth with herbs and spices. It's eaten with rice and vegetables and pig stomach. I've been craving this!

After some shopping, met up with some friends for Malay food. Everything was delicious but especially the tofu/egg dish seen in the photo on the left. It was still crackling and sizzling when it arrived. Saucy and savoury!

After dinner we went to Clarke Quay. It's a little bit of a tourist trap filled with expats, but it's filled with open air bars and restaurants. Mood lighting, fountains, and live music everywhere. I love this place!

Day 3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!

 SPF 130?!?! Really??

Met up with Kelvin and had brunch at the marina. Eggs benedict and caramelized banana brioche french toast!

Finally went to Sentosa, tourist central of Singapore! It's my 3rd trip to Singapore so we thought it was due time I checked it out. Like the rest of Singapore, it's beautiful. Walked around and oohed and ahhed at the peacocks walking around the place and the giant turtles. Then we spent some time at the BEACH!!!

We decided we wanted to utilize our bathing suits more, so we went off to Kelvin's country club to enjoy some time in the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Here's the view.

My favourite time of day, dinner time! We went to an outdoor restaurant/stall called Two Chefs and had fantastic Chinese food. It was a bustling restaurant and there was always a line. We had fried pork ribs covered in milk powder. Sounds weird, but OH SO GOOD.

Finally, this is a picture of a 'parking coupon'. Singaporeans buy these at their local convenient stores, and rip out the dots indicating the date and time. These are placed on their dashboards when they park. It acts as their parking meter.
